An LED display on the front chest, with reflective backing, indicates the system’s operational status and features a haptic alert that vibrates to confirm the system is armed or to warn of low battery. The vest incorporates Alpinestars’ Pro 2nd Generation compact ECU, which is housed in a dedicated pocket in the upper back for protection and ease of access. Bluetooth low energy (BLE 5.0) connectivity allows riders to monitor system status, battery life, and ride maps via the Alpinestars Tech-Air® App. The software is upgradable, ensuring the vest remains current with the latest features and safety updates.

The integrated lithium-ion battery provides up to 40 hours of operation and recharges in approximately four hours. The gas inflator, located on the left side of the lower back, supplies inflation gas for rapid deployment of the airbag. All electronic components, including the inflator housing and wiring, are removable for maintenance or replacement, with canisters available through certified Alpinestars dealers and service centers. Certified to operate within -20°C to +40°C, the vest’s ECU seal ensures performance in all weather conditions. The washable canvas exterior allows for easy cleaning once electronics are removed, making the Alpinestars Tech-Air® 3 vest a reliable and versatile safety solution for serious riders.
